It seems most PM's talk about development projects. How about business process projects? How IT systems aid supply chain projects? Implementing 'packaged software' projects?
I have managed 2 development projects and only 1 of them was actually completed. It was about 10 years ago and we did a 'live' inventory tracking system using MS Access for a manufacturing company. The other was just a couple of years ago - developing a sales/CRM/Quoting package for a local equipment dealer. Their business went south and, of course, the new development project was cancelled. I had already done all the planning and planned integration with 2 packaged software products and was designing the sales product that we were going to develop internally when the project was cancelled as was my employment. :)
I'll post some other big projects I've worked on, but what about the rest of you? What types of IT projects have you managed?
